Publication of review on p-block doped conjugated inorganic-organic polymers

A detailed overview over the field of covalent p-block element doping in conjugated organic polymers is provided with regard to applications in electronics. Benefits and challenges have been identified for different p-element structural motifs and their effects on the conjugation and resulting photophysical properties have been elaborated. The huge potential of the heavier elements and heavier multiple bonds is emphasized to induce interest and future interdisciplinary collaborations that will bring fundamental research in this promising field forward and concomitantly prompt the development of industrial applications.
